Your body is talking to you all the time, but you never slow down long enough to listen to it. Not until it’s screaming at you. You need to commit to a daily listening practice. You need to take the time, preferrably in the morning, and stop to take a deep breath and bring your attention to the present. Ask yourself, How does my body feel? What does it need from me today? How is my energy? “This practice can shift the me-verus-you attitude we often have with our bodies where we get mad when it’s tired and frustrated when it’s sick” says Tracy Gaudet M.D., executive director of the Duke Integrative Medicine Center. Learn to listen to your body and you will know when something is not right.
So what does this have to do with healthy weight loss your asking? Well when you learn to listen to your body and start acting accordingly you will see how it affects not only your weight but your health as well.
How many times have you caught your self saying ” I shouldn’t be eating this” but you eat it anyway. When you practice listening to your body and doing what it tells you, you will have no problem staying healthy.

Friday, August 14th, 20094 Foods To Flaten Your Belly
Monday, August 10th, 2009The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition conducted a study and found that dieters who ate 5 servings of whole grains daily for 12 weeks lost twice the amount of stomach fat as those that ate refined carbs. The researchers credit the higher amount of fiber in the whole grains for the significant reduction in belly fat.
Moveover Acai Berry, Bluberries are just as good, well almost.
A group of overweight rats that were fed the human equivalent of 1 cup of blueberries daily stored less belly fat than those that did not eat them, reports a Michigan University study. The researchers believe compounds in the anthocyanin, the pigment that gives blueberries their tint, may turn on genes related to fat burning.
Green Tea
I’ve mentioned Green Tea in other posts and here again as it is an excellent addition to any serious exercise and diet program. A recent study where participants who drank at least 5 cups of green tea daily had greater exercise-induced declines in ab flab than non-tea drinkers. The researchers think that green tea catechins may stimulate the body’s fight or flight response, altering fat storage.
Dried Fruit
Snacking on a tablespoon or more of dried fruit per day may help fight off abdomoinal obesity, according to data presented at Experimential Biology 2009. Measure out a tablespoon or so of trail mix, oatmeal, salad,or grains dishes for a burst of sweetness.
